+The //**Raman Experiments for Astrobiology and Planetology REAP**// database of the Laboratoire de Géologie de Lyon is based on a library of Raman spectra of representative minerals from the original “Handbook of Raman spectra for geology” web database. Now it is incremented with Raman spectra of organic compounds having an astrobiology interest. Eventually, REAP contains in situ high pressure and high temperature Raman measurements related to planetary processes.
+The spectra are recorded with high-resolution dispersive Raman micro-spectrometers equipped with CCD detectors. The microscopes used are in backscattering geometry. The laser beam (244, 514.5, 532 nm exciting lines) is focused through microscope objectives (x50 or x100) down to a 1 micrometer spot on sample and the backscattered light is collected through the same objective.
